The Boykin Spaniel Health Organization Launches as a New 501(c)(3) Non-Profit
Dedicated to the Health and Well-being of Boykin Spaniels
Lecanto, Florida – June 14, 2024 – Today marks the official launch of The Boykin Spaniel Health Organization, a newly established 501(c)(3) pending non-profit dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Boykin Spaniels. Chartered in the state of Florida, the organization aims to educate current and potential Boykin Spaniel owners about preventable diseases, support research initiatives, and assist with individual hardship cases as appropriate.
The Boykin Spaniel Health Organization is the brainchild of Teresa Bell, a passionate advocate for the breed. "By formally organizing as a 501(c)(3), we will continue the work that started with IVDD in the Boykin Spaniel (boykinivdd.com) and expand our focus to include other health conditions while enhancing our fundraising abilities," said Bell.
The mission of the organization is threefold:
  1. Education: Providing resources and information to Boykin Spaniel owners and potential owners on preventing and managing health issues common in Boykin Spaniels.
  2. Research Support: Assisting with the collection and dissemination of research and data to advance the understanding and treatment of Boykin Spaniel health conditions.
  3. Assistance: Offering financial assistance to owners facing hardship cases when severe health issues arise.
The Boykin Spaniel Health Organization is poised to make a significant impact in the community by raising awareness and providing support where it is most needed. Through collaboration with veterinarians, researchers, and dedicated owners, the organization aims to ensure that every Boykin Spaniel can lead a healthy, happy life.
