Our Mission
"This organization is a group of like-minded Boykin Spaniel owners who care deeply about the breed’s health and well-being. This group formally joined together in 2024 to form the Boykin Spaniel Health Organization, Inc., a 501(c)(3) corporation. Set up as an AVO (All Volunteer Organization), its mission is to create awareness, educate, provide hardship support for life threatening cases (Kona’s Legacy) and provide research data if necessary to further studies of diseases. The primary mission is to provide pet owners with the necessary information to make informed decisions about their dogs, irrespective of whether the Boykin Spaniel possesses certified papers from any registry." Vision Statement: “In the Boykin Spaniel Health Organization, we envision a world where every Boykin Spaniel thrives in optimal health, surrounded by informed and compassionate owners, envisioning a future where preventable diseases are uncommon, and unavoidable diseases have viable treatment options. Through dedicated education, robust research support, and a commitment to community assistance, we strive to be the leading advocate for the well-being of Boykin Spaniels, ensuring that each dog enjoys a long, happy, and fulfilling life.” We absolutely recommend taking your dog to a veterinarian or specialist and being your dog's advocate.
