With the advances of DNA testing in animals there are now ways to know if your dog may be susceptible to an inherited disease.

HOWEVER there are more diseases now showing up in the breed,

and a more complete panel of tests will include those added diseases.
One of our partners offer a great package called the Canine Health Check
"The Canine HealthCheck is an easy to use genetic screen of more than 250 different inherited diseases and traits. Common, inherited diseases include those that affect metabolism, bones, eyes, kidneys and many more. You will receive results for each gene tested as normal, carrier, or at-risk for the diseases. Color and trait results will show your dog’s genotypes.
